So I'm a huge mystery fan (I've read all of Sherlock Holmes, working through Poriot and had a Nancy Drew phase when I was nine), and I'm looking for a new book to read since I'm kinda in a rut.
must haves:
– Mystery, can be murder but literally anything is fair game
– No spice please, romance is okay but no spice
would like but okay if it's not there:
– female led but okay if not
– queer in someway, I'm lesbian myself so I enjoy reading books about that stuff :>
thanks! :>

Louise Penny’s Inspector Gamache series might be perfect – starts with “Still Life” and has this cozy Quebec village vibe with solid mysteries that dont rely on gore or anything explicit.
I like The Charity Shop Detective Agency series by Peter Boland. It’s a cozy type series, but it’s fun, especially the audiobooks.
How about [Fortune Favors the Dead](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/eb8c7ae9-41b0-442b-b3f1-8e01870fe219) by Stephen Spotswood?
Bill Straight by Jonathan Kellerman
Broken Monsters by Lauren Beukes
I’ve been obsessed with Robert Jackson Bennett’s Leviathan series – it’s a classic Holmes and Watson-style mystery series with the preternaturally talented detective and the sidekick, set in a richly developed fantasy world. There are two books out at the moment. So good!
