What was a book you expected to love but when you started to read it/finished it you were sorely disappointed?

Also, and vice versa what was a book you didn't expect to like or went into blind and completely loved it?

    I'll start.

I went into the Exorcist with high hopes but found it a bit boring… Don't hate on me as I know this book is considered a classic.

Vice versa, I went into the Library at Mount Char not expected much and now the book is my favourite of all time.

    1. I did not expect to like Dungeon Crawler Carl whatsoever but I am so glad I hopped on the bandwagon.

I thought I would like One Hundred Years of Solitude, and it really wasn’t for me.

I had huge expectations from ‘A walk in the woods’ and was one of the worst book ever read

Didn’t expected much from ‘Daughter of the Reich’ and loved it and occupied most of my brain for the next 2 weeks after I finished it.

    3. Babel by RF Kuang was the most disappointing book I can ever remember reading. I love fantasy, academia, etc. so I thought it was going to be an easy favourite of mine.

My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell was a huge surprise. It’s not something I’d normally read but came highly recommended, and I’m glad I read it even if it was challenging.
