So i'm not new to books, my mom is the biggest book worm there is and so she raised me to love them (books) as well. I always enjoyed the content of the books, but never reading. I've read about ~70+ books in my life, mostly fantasy (all of Tolkien's legenderium, harry potter, dune…) and some other stuff, and yet i have never enjoyed the reading itself. I always read for about half an hour (maximum an hour) and then stopped, i couldn't bare the reading (gen z problems) and yet i really enjoyed the text itself, i enjoyed the story, the characters, all of it, just not reading it. In yhe past half year or so, i've been volunteering (and sometime working for money, it's complicated) on my local library, and yet i didn't like reading. What i did like (and still very much) is movies, watched (and still do, at least tries to) about a movie per day. My 7th fav movie oat is the perks of being a wallflower, and i always knew that it is based on a book, but i was never interested at reading it. Last Friday i saw it at my desk in the library, and i decided to give it a shot. In that day i've read the whole book (although i've read over 70 books in my life, it was the first time i finished a whole book in one day), for the first tome i actually enjoyed reading. I fell i love with books. Then in Tuesday, the next time i was at the library, i've read the little prince, and again, read the whole book in one day (it was much shorter tho). The next day, i was again at the library and i took the book looking for Alaska, i loved it. Tomorrow i'm going to the library again and i want some recommendation. My local library doesn't have to two books that j want to read (the king in yellow and red rising), so i'll buy them sometime, but for now i want a book that js like the perks of being a wallflower and looking for alaska. a coming of age romance, but a sad one. If someone can recommend something similar to these two (i also really relate to pudge and Charlie, so a protagonist like them would also be great, same with Sam and alaska, and once again, like chip and patrick). If someone knows something like that, i'll be glad. Anyway, sorry for writing so much, hope someone will give me some good books. Thank you!

honestly fell in love with *Eleanor & Park* by Rainbow Rowell – it’s got that same melancholy coming-of-age vibe with characters you’ll definitely connect with. Also try *It’s Kind of a Funny Story* by Ned Vizzini, the protagonist Craig has major Charlie energy and it hits all those emotional beats you’re looking for
I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson, it has more of a subplot romance.
