What is a book you hope gets adapted into a movie/tv show and one you hope never does?

We all have books we love that we think would be perfect for a movie or tv show adaptation and books we’d dread to hear are being made into one. What is a book you think would work well as an adaptation and one you would be horrified if they ever tried to adapt it?

I’d love to see an anthology type movie featuring stories from Ray Bradbury’s book The Illustrated Man. If done right, it could be a fantastic anthology movie akin to the Coen Brother’s film The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.

On the other hand, I’m hoping the adaptation for Blood Meridian doesn’t come to fruition. I know a movie is already sort of in the works, but the idea that someone could try to replicate the tone or material of the novel does not seem possible given the story.
