I just finished Filth by Irvine Welsh. It was brutal and the ending has stuck with me since I've finished it. My favorite type of novels are ones where the character's sense of reality is completely broken (American Psycho also being one of my favorites). Are there any novels with this specific trope I am missing? I am open to any genres.

House of Leaves
You can’t go wrong with *Naked Lunch*.
Many books by Philip K Dick. A Scanner Darkly, for example.
I’d suggest h{{The Last House on Needless Street}} and h{{I’m Thinking of Ending Things}}. The second was made into a film that I also recommend (once you’ve read the book of course haha).
The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami
Come closer by Sara gran
The eyes are the best part by Monika Kim
Not sure if I these will hit the mark for you but they may.
* The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
* The Gone World by Tom Sweterlitsch
* The Southern Reach trilogy- Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer
* Night Film by Marisha Pessl
A new recommendation: h{{Esther is now following you}}
Walking to Aldebaron
You might like House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski, it really messes with your sense of reality in a very unsettling way. Also The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath and I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid both capture that slow mental unraveling really well.
