Mystery books similar to Holly Jackson novels (or any other mystery recommendations for someone new to the genre)

hi! Recently I've been enjoying mysteries but I'm quite new to genre so I'd love some recommendations! I've been to my local library but didn't know which book to pick out of the big selection so I'm looking for help 🙂

I loved all novels by Holly Jackson. I liked them because the ending surprised me but not in the "oh I never could have seen that coming, that's kind of random" kind of way but more in the "oh that's so clever" kind of way if that makes sense. I liked the Reappearance of Rachel Price because the reveal did shock me but also I recognised all the hints the author has been dropping all along and I thought it was well thought out. Same with Good Girl's Guide to Murder, I liked how it all just started making sense at the end and how it was all connected.

I've read all novels by Holly Jackson and a few Agatha Christie books as well as the Sherlock Holmes stories.

I am primarily looking for something more modern, but I'm open to anything!
