I recently finished reading Project Hail Mary; I absolutely loved it and read The Martian right after, which I loved just as much. I really like Andy Weir's writing style, incorporating realistic science, chemistry, and engineering into his books along with the humor. I don’t think he has any other major books besides Artemis. But judging by the reviews, Artemis wasn't anywhere as good as the other two. I’m not sure if it was worth the read or not. Anyways, recommendations for sci-fi books like the Martian/PHM would be very appreciated 🙂

Some older ones like Contact by Sagan or 2001 space odyssey by Arthur C Clarke. Dark Matter by Blake crouch is more recent.
Two other books that might be a bit more of a stretch but I enjoyed were Ministry or Time and The mountain in the Sea.
Try Daniel Suarez’s *Delta V*, it’s a similar ‘competence porn’, about a tech billionaire funding a wildcat asteroid mining expedition. It’s lacking the humor however.
OTOH his novel *Daemon* reads like a technothriller movie, along with its sequel *Freedom TM*. An AI set loose by a dead billionaire game designer starts killing people and creating a darknet conspiracy. Great fun, and if AI controlled motorcycle drones with samurai swords chasing people up the stairs sounds like your jam, you’ll love it! It’s got a fair bit of dark humor, not quips. But it actually builds into big, world changing science fiction, delving into how to deconstruct late stage capitalism by using technology to decentralize.

Try some Michael Crighton. Good stuff out there!
We Are Legion (We Are Bob), by Dennis E. Taylor
The Expanse series by James S.A. Corey.
