Okay so I’m an adult in my mid 20s but growing up I never read books or didn’t have access to many books. I saw a kids book recently and I was so excited to see the pictures and how fun and colorful it was. So to make up for what I missed as a kid, are there any nice books you’d recommend I check out anything that’s fun has pictures and nice plot that can be enjoyed as an adult as well (kids/YA or anything). Thank you !

My Father’s Dragon. The pictures are fascinating. The story is fun. It’s about a 3rd grade level, but I still love it as an adult.
Also — you might have a look at the first Dogman book. My grandkids are obsessed, and I read it, too.
Some awesome suggestions in here! If you want an actual picture book, The Snail and the Whale by Julia Donaldson is a solid favorite in my household, from when my kids were in pre-K, to my now-10yo, even for me as a late 30s mom. The pictures are beautiful, the story is beautiful, it’s just such a wonderful book. It’s my go-to for a baby shower book gift
House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune isn’t illustrated but it has that exact energy. Warm and colourful and safe in a way that feels like it’s looking after you while you read it. I reread it last winter.
For actual pictures, anything by Oliver Jeffers. The Incredible Book Eating Boy is the one I’d start with. Ostensibly for kids, genuinely lovely as an adult.
