I've been getting back into reading and truthfully haven't been really into a series since middle school. so my favorite series are books like Fablehaven and Hunger Games. I've been looking for a fantasy book/series to get into but all the recommendations I've been seeing online are like booktok and have an emphasis on smut. I don't mind smut but I just want to read a book for the story. I also would love it if it had any queer representation. this may be a lot but any suggestions would be appreciated!

Look at *Half a King* by Joe Abercrombie. Most of his stuff is pretty violent but this is the first novel in a young-adult series so all that stuff is toned down.
You might like Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, it’s very character driven and doesn’t rely on romance or smut. Also Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson is a great series if you want strong worldbuilding and plot. The Priory of the Orange Tree could also work, especially since it has queer representation and focuses more on story than spice.
