My best friend's birthday is in a few days and I am STUMPED. She loves reading but our genres are VERY different. I like lots of romance. She borderline dislikes it and is very picky with romance.
She loves mystery, action, and fantasy with a very subtle romance subplot. She reads a lot of James Patterson, and she loves the Alex Rider series. She also likes the unhinged-ness of Percy Jackson and thats a good example of the romance side-plot.
I really want to get her a book that she will enjoy because its her big 18. please helpππ»ππ»
P.S: she is Christian and usually avoids lgbt themes, she also will not read any smut or any mc that is annoying or arrogant without being humbled. (she likes humbling arrogant people).
P.S 2: she also doesnt usually like popularised books. (she hated everything I told her about The Cruel Prince)

Why not get her a gift card to your local bookstore so she can choose for herself? Or take her too the bookstore and offer to buy her a couple she chooses? That way you don’t risk getting her something she has already read (or won’t like).

Maybe a bookish gift basket? Some ideas to fill it: cozy blanket, candle, cute bookmark, journal, her fave snack or candy, bookstore giftcard, etc.
