I have a longer commute to work, so I listen to a lot of audiobooks, but have found myself in a slump where nothing is hitting. Suggest me your favorites!
Some of my recent favorite books are the Daevabad trilogy by S.A. Chakraborty, the Legends & Lattes series by Travis Baldree, and the Last Binding trilogy by Freya Marske. Lately I’m big into historical fantasy, but I’ve read anything from Tolkien to Katee Roberts. Thanks so much!

Maybe the rise and fall of DODO by Neal Stephenson and Nicole Galland! 🙂
If you don’t mind revisiting the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Andy Serkis has recently(ish) voiced the trilogy. He played Gollum in the films and voiced some of the other films characters. He’s done an awesome job reading the books and giving the characters different voices
Yahtzee Croshaw, funny author with great characters. Narrates his own audiobooks.
Differently Morphus and Existentially Challenged – Governmental agency involved in the regulation of magic and extra dimensional beings.
Mogworld – Main character is undead. Hijinks ensue. This is one of his earlier books, so the audiobook budget was probably less. Still a great story, but you can hear pages being turned in case that is something that would bother you.
The Jacques McKeown series – An unemployed star pilot tries to get by in a universe where transporters are a thing. The first book in the series is Will save the galaxy for food.
L.G. Estrella’s Unconventional Heros Series
The 2 Necromancers series. 2 Necromancers try to earn a pardon for past crimes by doing odd jobs for a kingdom. Strong found family vibe.
The first 2 books in the series are bundled under the title of the second book in the series 2 Necromancers, A Bureaucrate, and an Army of Golems.
Attempted Vampirism Series. A vampire noble has his castle repossessed for back taxes. He becomes an adventurer to try and earn money to buy it back.
The 13th Paladin series by Torsten Weitze. The 13th Paladin of the Gods has been sent to fight the dark god “He Who Forces”. The first book in the series is Ahren.
The Traveler’s Gate Trilogy by Will Wight. Magic is used by calling energy and creatures from other worlds called territories. People who can draw from their territories are called travelers. The first book in the series is House of Blades.
Heretical Fishing by Haylock Jobson. A man is reincarnated into another world after his death. He has access to amazing powers and abilities, but only wants to peacefully fish. He makes friends with multiple animals who are also superpowered.
The Unselected Journals of Emma M Lion series audiobooks are amazing. The narrator Genevieve Gaunt is SO GOOD! Not quite historical fantasy but historical fiction with a sprinkle of magical realism.
If you like fantasy I recently also listened to The Old Kingdom trilogy (Abhorsen) and Tim Curry is amazing too
