Searching for books, nonfiction or fiction, that capture the feeling of going from being central in someone's life to the periphery or generally address friendships drifting apart.

My former best friend who I experienced all of life's major milestones with: weddings, grief and loss, new motherhood, and I drifted apart and have had some warm, acquaintance-like interactions over the last few years.

I recently learned through the grapevine that she had another baby, and am surprised at how heartbroken I am to realize I am truly on the outside looking in on her life now; it's such a stark difference between being right by her side the first time around. Looking for any recommendations that might reflect this feeling or experience.

Elena Ferrante’s Neapolitan series takes you on a real journey about this.
