When I was a kid i absolutely loved Jaqueline Wilson and the Hetty feather series, I really want to start reading this kind of historical fiction again. Does anyone have any recommendations??
jacqueline wilson was amazing back in the day! for adult historical fiction you might want to check out sarah waters – her books have that same kind of emotional depth but definitely more mature themes. also phillipa gregory writes really engaging historical stuff, though it’s more focused in tudor/medieval periods rather than victorian era like hetty feather.

i loved hetty feather as well!! you might like the foundling by stacey halls, which is also partially set around the foundling hospital like hetty feather but from the perspective of a mother who left her child there. after a few years, she wants to re-claim the child but finds out someone already took them pretending to be her!
