So I typically read romantasy (anything with fantasy and enemies to lovers is my JAM) but I'm dealing with the typical burn out from reading so many series.
Sooooooooo I'm looking for your favorite stand alone "short" books! Ideally I'd like to stay under 300. Even shorter is great. I'm open to any genre! It doesn't need to have romance or spice but if you do have any romantasy recs please add them!! And geez honestly if it's not short but you loved it so much still recommend 🤣
Choosing my next read is like paralyzingly stressful so please help a girl out 🤣
For reference I'm 32/f and recently moved to the pnw! I loveeee true crime documentaries and anything evolution/dinosaurs/early humans etc and have never really explored these genres in reading! So any recs for those would be great! Just keep in mind I tend to read romantasy so nothing crazy heavy for my first introduction to the genre! I've read a few horror/thriller books and enjoyed them! I'm totally down for "soul crushing sobbing on the couch for hours" books as well!

The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison. Fantasy, not romantasy, relatively short and not a series. There is a related series in that it’s set in the same world, but it is not really connected.
