I don't know if these books even exist, but my partner of 9 years left me a few weeks ago while I'm being chronically ill from dysregulated nervous system. I wish there was a book that would describe my exact situation, but that feels a bit too optimistic. However, maybe you guys know books about:

    – Loneliness

    – Breakup grief

    – Chronic illness

    – Dysregulated nervous system

    – Feeling worthless

    – cPTSD

    – Healing

And preferably, a combination of (some of) the above? Both fiction and non-fiction.

Warning this is kind of a depressing list but I tend to lean in to dark reads when I’m going through stuff

Martyr by Kaveh Akbar for cptsd

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath (TW for SI)

Eleanor Olyphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman (TW for SI)

How Not to Die Alone by Richard Roper

For nonfiction you might like Meaty by Samatha Irby and her other works (cptsd and chronic illness). David Sedaris Calypso and Me Talk Funny One Day (especially his audiobooks). Both authors are humerists and so you might find them somewhat uplifting
