I’m looking for a book (or series) that will capture me in the way that A Series of Unfortunate Events did… in fact I read the series twice through.
Can anyone rave me a book that’s got a plot, and similar story line in a way?
It’s just such a fascinating series to me, both when I first read it at 12-15 years old, to recently when I re-read it at 20 yrs old.
Pleaseeeee help me find my love to read again.

How good is it?! Good news: *All The Wrong Questions* is a prequel series also written by Lemony Snicket. I’ll recommend just as highly as the original. Or even higher. As well as the four core books, there’s a fifth book, collecting short stories.
And if you’re 20? You’re about the perfect age for *Poison for Breakfast* in which Lemony Snicket investigates his own murder. It’s far more philosophical than the other books, but still an absolute delight.
Written by Pseudonymous Bosch, *The Secret Series* is inspired by *A Series of Unfortunate Events*. There’s also a follow up series called *The Bad Books*. They may work for you too. I’ve not read any of his work though, so take this as info, not necessarily as a recommendation.
The Terra Ignota series by Ada Palmer? It’s written with a similar sort of meta-commentary of the in-universe narrator addressing the reader. There are strange and larger than life characters. Otherwise, though, it’s completely different.
