Hi everyone!
I’ve set a goal to read one book a month this year, but my struggle is to find a good book that really pulls me in. When I read, I like something that makes me feel strongly what the characters are experiencing – I know that’s a bit vague, but I’m sure you know what I mean!
A few of my favourite books I’ve read are:
A Little Life – Hanya Yanagihara
The Secret History – Donna Tartt
Burned Alive – Souad
Small Great Things – Jodi Picoult
The Bell Jar – Sylvia Plath
These books to me explore life – the good and the bad. While some of them are based on true stories, they all seem to encapsulate human emotions related to the story really well and I just love that they made me understand the story by the way they described what the characters were feeling.
If anyone has any suggestions for books that left them thinking, reflecting, made them cry – made you FEEL anything deeply – please recommend them to me!
Thanks ☺️

I recently finished “the bright years” by Sarah damoff. And as someone who typically doesn’t get very emotionally invested in characters, I FELT that.
A Fine Balance, Of Mice and Men, The Book Thief, The Heart’s Invisible Furies,
I Who Have Never Known Men, by Jacqueline Harpman. Read it in 1 day and thought about it for a week.
