I am in college right now in a stem field, and I have not been able to read in a while. I want to read a few books this summer. One book I always think back to is "Into Thin Air". I have read so many different genres, but this book remains the best read of my life. I would like something that is compelling, but not in an overzealous way. I love how "Into Thin Air" has no focus on romance, is an emotional read, but has its heart warming moments. Perhaps it's because it is non-fiction, but I would enjoy either. Not to mention Jon is an amazing writer. I really want a book with an amazing story, and a compelling narrative. I know this did not provide too much information on what I am looking for, but if anyone has read this book and has found another that gives the same feelings I would be so grateful for recommendations.

Maybe look into “The Indifferent Stars Above”. It’s an older disaster, but set in the mountains and very compelling.

The Last Place on Earth by Roland Huntford and The World Beneath Their Feet by Scott Ellsworth are two personal favorites.

We Die Alone. It’s the the true story of Norwegian resistance fighters in WWII who were ambushed and only 1 man survived.

The Indifferent Stars Above was excellent.

Maybe other Krakauer books. Eiger Dreams maybe?
