I have been in a book slump for around 6 months and nothing is really getting me back into it. I’m reading two books right now, but nothing is truly getting me excited to read. Here’s a list of my favorite books and why:

    – Song of Achilles. The relationship between the main characters, writing, and having it set in Greek mythology were the best parts for me.

    – The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. Loved the timeline.

    – A Dowry of Blood. Love vampires and seeing the story over a period of hundreds of years.

    – The Serpent and the Wings of Night. Great romantasy book.

Is there a book similar to one of these that someone could recommend? Also open to other books too that are not related to the listed books.

Going off of your list a few to try:

      Circe (for obvious reasons)
Twilight! It’s cheesy but fun. If you want something more “serious” interview with a vampire (or any Ann rice)
A Court of Thorns and Roses
Als Project Hail Mary is everywhere with the movie out, but it’s worth the hype.

    2. If you enjoyed Song of Achilles, then I recommend The Hymn to Dionysus by Natasha Pulley.

Based on these, I’d try The Unmaking of June Farrow by Adrienne Young, or Wolfsong by TJ Klune.

I would definitely recommend going into The Unmaking blind, but I will say it’s a magical realism book focused on the different generations of women in one family, and also has a really great romance. Once the plot started to come together it had me hooked until the very last page, and invested in all the characters.

Wolfsong is a contemporary fantasy focused on a pack of werewolves, and a gay romance between two of the characters. Heads up that they meet as kids but have an age gap that made me uncomfortable, but other than that it’s a really well written romance, and you can’t help but root for both of them to get their happy ending.

    4. I haven’t read those. But first series to recommend that comes to mind is the Legends of Thezmarr series by Helen Sheuerer. Loved them and the connected series a lot.
