Hi everyone, I just finished reading The Mercies, by Kirian Millwood Hargrave (amazing book btw) and I would really love some book (or other media) recommendations to learn more about the Sami people, their traditions and way of life and also their persecution. While my main target is nonfiction, any fiction that depicts this well is also greatly appreciated!

Just picked up some books about indigenous cultures myself after getting curious about different traditional ways of living. There’s definitely more awareness needed about how these communities were treated historically – the persecution part is pretty heavy stuff but important to understand. Fiction can sometimes hit harder than pure facts when it comes to really feeling what people went through
