A book where the theme is ruthless accountability?
Idc if it’s fiction or nonfiction. All I ask is that the storytelling is great and the main character or narrator has to live with choices or a choice they made. I do prefer books in the first person.
man you gotta check out “A Little Life” – that book will absolutely destroy you in the best way possible 💀 The main character carries the weight of his past decisions through the entire story and watching him wrestle with that accountability is brutal but incredible. Fair warning though, its a heavy read and definitely not something you pick up casually on a weekend.
If you want something a bit different, “The Kite Runner” hits hard too. The narrator spends the whole book trying to make up for one massive choice he made as a kid, and the guilt just eats at him. Both are first person and the storytelling is phenomenal – you really feel like youre living through their consequences with them 😂
