Help, my library is failing me. I want more mermaid books, especially queer and/or scary. I have The Mermaid, The Witch, and The Sea (Maggie Tokuda-Hall), and Into The Drowning Deep (Mia Grant).
Non-fiction okay, but I doubt there are many.

if you’re willing to take ‘mermaid’ a little figuratively, Our Wives Under the Sea. Queer and scary and beautiful and sad
ok you’ve basically hit the two big ones already lol. try The Deep by Rivers Solomon, it’s queer mermaid lore but make it heavy and kind of haunting in a good way.
Oh girl you need to read The Pisces by Melissa Broder.
