How to train your dragon is a literary MASTERPIECE

Honestly, when I first read the book series as a kid it was my favourite series growing up. The story is so fucking layered elements you thought werent important from book 1 or 2 come back in full force in book 12, and the absolute magnitude of everything that is going on is genuinely just beautiful. Ive never loved a series as much as this it honestly should be in some sort of hall of fame. The way how Hiccup, no matter what is thrown at him does the right thing over and over, and how we see him have the whole world and everyone he knows and love turn on him, yet he keeps going is so beautiful. Fishlegs, despite seeing everyone renounce him sticks up for the one guy who protected him even becoming a slave. Prophecies from 1000s of years ago repeat and continue into the present. The 12 items that complete the prophecy gradually getting ticked off the list one by one. Snoutlouts redemption and eventual death is one of the saddest but greatest parts of the book, and the gradual deterioration and dehumanization of Alvin as the books go on is just so sad but perfect. Like genuinely i feel like im going insane on how much I love the bookseries. By far it is the greatest childrens series I have ever had the delight to read. And it has one of the greatest endings to a book series of all time. Its genuinely beautiful the way everything wraps up so perfectly at the end, no loose ends, no forgotten characters, EVERYTHING important up until this point is just perfectly wrapped up like the greatest Checkovs gun ever made.
By far it is the greatest book series I have ever had the delight to read.
