Hey there! I am currently searching for a book that touches on topics that I've struggled with.I just recently started reading again and loved Sarah waters in terms of writing style/plot but now i am searching for some books reflecting my struggles growing up.
Would like to read about the topics of deadbeat migrant dads – if that's not to specific.
Also growing up in a white family when you're not white or meeting your "migrant" part of the family /country of origin very late in life / not knowing culture or language of your heritage.
Also in general books with struggles with parents in adult live (mom or dad or both) – you know the dad that comes back in life and know you don't know if you have to help with tje financial struggles and stuff like that. I am really trying to work through it with books and don't know where to start. Can be fictional or not. Shouldn't be written as a self-help book though. Also maybe not to relegios/spiritual?
Are there books that touch these subjects? I keep getting recommend Identitti and i didn't like it at all, but i also did not give it more then a few chapters before giving it away.
I thought i try this subreddit, the book doesn't have to tick all boxes. Also maybe just a tip where i could search would be great.
Thanks in advance! 🙂
