KJ Charles – Band Sinister
You might like The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent, it has that darker, more serious tone without feeling cheesy. Also A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire (from the Blood and Ash series) leans more into the mature side while still keeping the fantasy elements strong.
