    Working my way through historical fictions around the world, and Africa has been the toughest for me to find good recommendations on. Everyone says Things Fall Apart, which is amazing, but I’ve read it already.

    1. Mongo Beti’s The Poor Christ of Bomba is pretty believable

    2. Chimamanda Ngozie Adiche has a few (Half of a Yellow Sun is one)

      Its not by an African author but Poisonwood Bible is a masterpiece

    3. The Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad is a classic you should try. The movie Apocalypse Now is a modern retelling (set in Vietnam instead of Africa).
