I'm looking for a book about somebody in a toxic unhealthy relationship or situation, where it's difficult to leave, but they eventually get out. I prefer fiction but I am also option to nonfiction.
I recently read the nonfiction book called A Well Trained Wife. It was a fascinating memoir and I'm glad I read it. However the "getting away from the abuse" section was only at the very end of the book. It would be nice to see more of that – the planning and the strategizing, etc.

Rose Madder by Stephen King. There’s a supernatural element, but it’s soooo satisfying
