This is my second reading of GEoD. I first read it decades ago. It is currently my "second read" — when I don't feel like reading the primary book I'm reading, I'll pick this up and read a few pages.
I'm about 60% of the way through currently, and… nothing happens. Leto talks with people, other people talk with one another about talking with Leto… And that's about it. Thus far, there was one action scene to start the book; at some point, Leto's caravan was attacked, but it resulted in nothing.
Sure, we get to hear Leto's plans and philosophies and see how he reacts to others and how they react to him, but… nothing happens. Thus far at least. Maybe in the last third, something happens, but I'm jonesing for *some* kind of plot.

There’s actually a lot of action going on, you just have to think about ramifications of what you’re reading.
Also, most of the things happening happen to or because of Idaho.
It’s really Idaho’s (and Siona’s) story, told through the lens of Leto’s slowly pondering mind.
