Hi, i recently read both 11/22/63 and Project hail mary, one thing i liked that was present in both is when characters experience severe setbacks that threaten their goals, and you are left wondering how on earth they will get their way out of the predicament.
I would like to find more books where it feels like "the walls are closing in", be it someone in danger of failing their mission and running out of options or creatively getting their way out of an impossible situation(s).

You’re gonna like Stephen King’s ***Misery*** . King’s philosophy for plots is one of “and then what?” where he continually thinks up some very tricky situation and tries to figure out a way to get his character(s) through it…or not.
