I LOVE slow burn but i kind of hate when the slow burn is overarching with one or both seeing other people in between. I want yearning, down bad romance where they don’t have eyes for ANYONE else. like heaven official’s blessing, slow burn with yearning and pining. I need something like that. any genre is fine, any kind of pairing, I just need more pining in my literature, I want it all. bonus if friends to lovers or lgbt+ pairings but that’s not a requirement. I just need the slowww burn

Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez
The Heiress Effect by Courtney Milan comes to mind! The central tension of the relationship is that he came from a lower class family and is in politics trying to make the world less awful, plus he’s anxious and hypervigilant from being treated badly as a kid, so he’s very concerned about not undermining himself with any breaches of etiquette. The FMC, on the other hand, is a walking breach of etiquette, lol.
Now that I think about it, The Countess Conspiracy from that series also fits, albeit for vastly different reasons. The MMC has been in love with the FMC for ~15 years, but she was married for a while to a real POS and even years after his death she’s deeply traumatized. She can’t even really stand to be touched at first and he’s super patient at every step of the way, both about physical stuff and about her not loving him back. It’s really, really sweet!
