The Reformatory is good, its a historical horror following a brother and sister.

She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan — alternate history with fantasy elements. You didn’t mention if you wanted them to be friends, but the two ‘main’ characters are rivals and both gnc. The female protagonist has a romance with a woman but it’s a minor plot, all of her relationships with men are completely platonic.

The Hollow Places by T. Kingfisher (horror)
The Rotting Room by Viggy Parr Hampton (horror – the male character does develop feelings for the female character, but it’s never reciprocated)
Small Game by Blair Braverman (survival thriller – very mild sapphic romance, again one-sided)
The Last One by Will Dean (thriller)
The Last One by Alexandra Oliva (survival thriller – not related to the novel listed above!)
