I had a substantial collection back when I was living with my parents. I could bring only the very important ones when moving over to a new country for studies.
I made do with an e-reader for a while. Now that I have some disposable income, I am starting to grow my physical and it is getting around that 20 book point.
So my question to you is when did you decide to get a bookshelf?

I feel like you always need a bookshelf, I’ve never not had a bookshelf. One of the bookshelves in my current home was in my childhood bedroom.
Basically it’s when 1. You can afford it, and 2. When your books will take up less space on a shelf than however they are stored now. (Excluding packed away in a box).
I was eight, and it was time. I bought my own when I moved out at 17.
