Hello! I just finished Still Beating by Jennifer Hartmann in one sitting and I don’t remember being so obsessed with a book in a long time. I was never a fan of ‘dark romances’ (though I appreciate Still Beating is quite tame compared to other dark romances) but this story really gripped me, so now I’m looking for new romance recommendations that will keep me up reading until the morning. Here’s what I’m looking for:
\- Angsty, heartwrenching
\- Longing, pinning, yearning
\- NO insta love, please! I love a good slow burn or at least some relationship development before they get together
\- I’m okay to try another dark romance
\- I’m also okay with spice as long as the book is not solely focused on that
Can’t wait to find a new favourite!!
Thanks everyone 🙂

you should definitely check out the song of achilles – its not traditional romance but the yearning and slow burn is absolutely devastating. took me like 3 days to recover after finishing it
also maybe try the seven husbands of evelyn hugo if you want something with more modern setting. the relationship development there is really well done and has all that angst you’re looking for
