Hello,
I am looking for some books that will make me cry. My Therapist recommended for me to read something that will give me a good cathartic cry. I am okay with pretty much anything that is not child abuse. Thank you in advance for the recommendations!

Not sure how strict your definition of “child abuse” is, but uh. If you haven’t read Hunger Games/ Sunrise on the Reaping yet… That’ll do it, haha!
The saddest book I’ve read remains Never let me go by Ishiguro. I don’t think it strictly contains child abuse, but the children know the terrible things that will happen to them as adults and they are prisoners. It’s such a good book
