Strange how everyone claims to like deep thinkers, but the conversation always sticks to the same few names. No one talks about Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and the guy literally wrote one of the most complete explorations of ambition and the human condition. Or Henri Bergson whose ideas on time and consciousness are still way ahead of most modern discussions. Or even Thomas Carlyle who was writing about leadership and personality long before it became LinkedIn content. No one touches Plotinus, Epictetus, Boethius even Giambattista Vico. And Blaise Pascal is mostly remembered for physics, while his actual philosophical work is barely part of the conversation. It all Feels less like people are reading more like they’re following a script. I'm genuinely curious is it just accessibility or do people tend to stick to what’s already popular or instragram worthy?

There was also that one guy who wrote extensively about name dropping
Maybe they’re tired of old dead white guys
