I recently got into reading and finished The Silent Patient, Verity, and The Housemaid — I really enjoyed all of them, especially the suspense and emotional intensity.
Now I want to switch things up a bit and explore love, romance, and relationship-focused books. I’m currently confused between starting the Twisted series or the Shatter Me series.
For someone who’s new to the romance genre but enjoyed strong emotions, tension, and character depth — which one would you recommend and why?
Also open to other romance book suggestions if you think there’s something better to start with!

The Twisted series might be better transition for you since it has more psychological elements that feel closer to those thrillers you liked. Shatter Me is great but it’s more fantasy romance which could be big jump from what you’ve been reading
If you want something with similar intensity but romantic focus, maybe try something with darker romance themes first before going into lighter stuff
