Authors like penelope mortimer?

Hi! I’m looking for book recommendations that read kind of like a Penelope mortimer book! I love her writing style so much, it’s so like light and sort of detached, the way she writes is just aghh it’s so good. I love her subject matters as well, I love how it’s very normal life situations and how they generally have a bit of a sad edge to them. Sadly she doesn’t have that many books that I can get, so I’m in desperate need of more authors like her! Preferably from the 70s or earlier but I’d be happy with any time really.
