I'm really not sure how to describe this feeling but I need to read more books that feel like a weird fever dream that you would otherwise forget if it wasn't written down.

Maybe I'm being too particular but I'd really appreciate reccomendations for books that don't really make any sense and they're magical and surreal. Something like spirited away (any ghibli film really), alice in wonderland or like the games fran bow and little misfortune. It doesn't necessarily have to be of the fantasy genre.

If anyone kinda gets what I mean please suggest some books.

Oh I totally get this vibe! Try looking for some Haruki Murakami stuff – his writing has that exact dreamlike quality where normal things suddenly become completely bizarre and you’re never quite sure what’s real. The way he writes feels like being inside one of those dreams where everything makes perfect sense until you wake up.

There’s also this book called “The Night Circus” that has similar energy – it’s about magical circus that only appears in night and everything feels floating and unreal. Perfect for that fever dream feeling you’re looking for.

    2. bunny by mona awad is the most fever dream esque book i have ever read. it is so disorienting and confusing, i couldn’t put it down because i was so desperate to understand what was really happening. it’s definitely not for everyone but i think it fits your prompt exactly!!
