hello! i am currently reading Every Man Dies Alone by Hans Fallada and am 100% entranced by it. i was wondering if anybody has any other reads that are similar, they don’t have to solely be about German defiance. thanks in advance!
Just finished that one last month and it wrecked me – you might dig The Book Thief or anything by Sebastian Haffner, his memoir about watching the Nazis rise to power is wild

HHhH by Laurent Binet is about two Czechoslovak resistance fighters trained in England who parachuted into Prague to assassinate Reinhard Heydrich, but it’s also largely about the writer’s entire process of researching the story, with many digressions and anecdotes. And it’s incredible.
