Anyone else have a habit of reading before bed, seemingly comprehending everything, but then finding out when you pick up where you left off that you have to retrace a chapter (or two) to pick up the thread again? Maybe it’s age, and it doesn’t happen all the time, but it does happen. I could understand if I was already sleepy, but this happens when I think that I am still alert. I do have a good memory, especially about reading. It is amusing to experience.

It’s my nightly routine. I just keep rereading the same pages over and over. Lol.
yes i do this, i also have a bad habit of buying on sale ebooks while half asleep and wondering why i have some book i dont remember owning on my device the next day (luckily they are always like $1-2 so not breaking the bank haha)
pretty sure its because im reading too late, really need to get into bed earlier lmao
For me, if I can’t form thoughts about what I’m reading then I can’t concentrate on the book at all. I like to remember what I read on the previous page before moving on plus I’m also on the younger side so there’s that too.
I often go to bed a bit too tired to read, but tell myself I have to do one chapter. Then after 4 pages I realize I literally don’t know what I have at all. So I try again, but same thing. Sometimes I’ll do this night after night, so I’ll have read the same pages 5 times without actually reading anything.
No, but I don’t have school or a day job that saps my energy, and my one child’s an adult now.
