Need book recommendations that are like the movie “Starstruck”

Recently I(25F) have noticed that I watch certain romance movies on repeat throughout my life but I can’t for the life of me read romance books. Because of this, I stay out of romance genre most of the time and read one once every blue moon. Last one I read was a Gothic romance.

I think I’m just too picky. I don’t do first person, I hate when the girl is already falling for the dude immediately without even knowing him, the story focuses more on the spice than the plot. In a sense, I’m more fantasy/romance than romance/fantasy. Let me get to know the characters and fall for them first before pushing the relationship forward. How can I fan girl if I don’t have any info to do so?

Today, I started up the Disney movie, “Starstuck”, where the girl doesn’t like the popular celebrity guy simply because she doesn’t know him. Despite her not wanting to be anywhere near him, fate decides differently and she is stuck with him. As she continues to be near him, she starts to get to know him better and who he truly is and slowly falls in love with him. The guy is also falling for her because she’s (I know I know I’m sorry) different than anyone he has ever met. She doesn’t sugar coat and she mentions hard facts to him that makes him think hard about his life and who he is as a person. I believe he falls first before her. I know it’s a preteen/teenager movie but cmon Disney had some good movies back then.

Anyone that has watched the movie, can you please give me some recommendations that had the same vibes as the movie??
