I'm looking for a book where the main character is in a hospital for most if not all of the book. I don't mind a romance but would also like some non romance suggestions. Some hopecore type vibe would be nice and preferably the main character doesnt die.

The Pull of the Stars by Emma Donoghue. Set in an Irish hospital during the height of the pandemic (Spanish flu 1918) focusing on a nurse caring for pregnant women with the flu.
If nonfiction is ok, you could check out Brain on Fire by Susannah Cahalan, a memoir about a young woman as she searches for a diagnosis of what turns out to be a rare encephalitis.
