Not a philosophy student. I dont even read books but i have decided that i will start reading books as a hobby. Im intrested in books about philosophy and psychology which can improve my thinking and help me navigate my life.
I’ve always relied on logic and critical thinking to navigate life. It has served me well, I’m confident, I have strong boundaries, and I rarely get hurt because I follow my brain over my emotions. However, I’m realizing that this "no-BS" charc has its limits when it comes to human connection and social nuance.
I don't want to cut everyone off just because they don't meet a certain intellectual or logical standard. I want to find the balance between being "hardy/principled" and "kind/human." – This is among the many things i have to figure out.
Im 20y old and and this is the time i start developing myself into the person i want to be. I realised just pure raw thinking aint enough, i need knowledge too. Imo knowledge acts like a catalyst of thinking. Thats why im intrested more about the psychology/philosophical stuff so that i can be more metacognitively aware of my own shortcomings. I dont hope to find answers but i hope to find tools which can help me find out answers myself.
