I love horror, and I also have clinical depression, and it always makes me feel better to read books about people who are having a way worse time than me. I want there to be super crazy fucked up things happening and I want to be able to look at the characters throughout the entire book and go “Wow. At least I’m not that guy!” Bonus points if there’s a good audiobook version.

Check out Robert R. McCammon’s *Swan Song*, which in some ways feels like a more horror-y *The Stand*.
