Hii guys… I've been an avid reader for quite some time now. But, I wasn't able to read many books in the last 2 yrs other than the Game of Thrones series during my vacation.
Anyways, I was wondering if you could recommend some books to buy as I'm finally free now.
I loved:
Harry Potter
Percy Jackson
Kane Chronicles
Game of Thrones
Magnus Chase
The girl on the train
The woman in cabin 10
Verity
The Housemaid series
All the Dan Brown books
The Silent Patient
Good Girl's guide to murder
and a lot more
I know that the list is very messy but I just devoured books after reading the back π
I already have Inheritance Games, The Guest List and The Inmate in my cart… looking to add some more.
Thanks β₯

You should try the seven deaths of Evelyn hard castle
The Hobbit and LOTR, conspicuously absent from your list.
You might enjoy the Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch as they are fantasy crime/investigation books. The main character is a London police officer who meets a ghost and ends up joining the magical arm of the metropolitan police and training to be a wizard.
I’d also recommend Catriona Ward as an author. I’ve really enjoyed her books and they really mess with my head in the best way. I started with The last house on Needless Street, then I’ve also read Sundial and Looking Glass Sound.
You might like the Joe Ledger books by Jonathan Maberry. They start with Patient Zero. They are military sci fi horror with a good set of characters. If you like the first one, there are lots of others
I really like Jasper Fforde, the best of his that would fit your criteria would be *Early Riser* – the main character is investigating a viral dream in a world where people sleep through the winter.
Youβve got a great mix there. If you like investigation + fast pacing, a few you might really enjoy:
β The Chain by Adrian McKinty is very tense, hard to put down.
β The Chestnut Man by SΓΈren Sveistrup is darker, more detective-driven.
β The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward is more psychological, but really sticks with you.
If you want something more series-based (easy to binge and follow the same investigator):
β Michael Connelly (Bosch books) are classic, very readable.
β Robert Galbraith (Cormoran Strike) is slower burn but great character work.
Also came across a newer author recently, Cold Vengeance (Jack Karver series) by Jonathan Ben-Ron. More in that investigation/personal-stakes lane, and moves quickly.
Other books by holly jackson and also you can give the naturals a go
Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera
The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon
The Brisr Club by Kate Quinn
The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix Harlow
