Lately I’ve been wanting to read something that feels more real than just a story Not fiction not something overly polished but something that actually feels like you’re inside someone’s life The kind of book where you see their thoughts their struggles the way they deal with things over time. I’m especially drawn to autobiographies or memoirs that don’t hold back too much. Not just a timeline of events but something that shows how things actually felt in the moment. Even if it’s a bit messy or uncomfortable at times
I don’t mind if it gets emotional or heavy as long as it feels honest and not forced. I want something that kind of stays with you after like you keep thinking about certain parts or seeing things a bit differently. I feel like a lot of books I’ve tried lately feel a bit surface level and I’m looking for something deeper than that. If you’ve read an autobiography that really stuck with you I’d really love to hear it

Kitchen Confidential by Bourdain really gets in your head like that. He doesn’t sugarcoat the restaurant world or his own mess-ups, just tells it straight with all the chaos and addiction stuff. The way he writes about cooking and people feels like you’re actually standing next to him in those kitchens, not just reading about it from outside
