im looking for fantasy books that have no romance at all. i like the vibe of books like red queen but i was wondering if there is something similar to it but without romance, especially one with a mc that isnt pick me or obnoxious in a way?

You might like The Emperor’s Soul by Brandon Sanderson, it’s short, focused, and doesn’t really involve romance, but still has a strong, intelligent main character.
I don’t think the Lord of the Rings trilogy has any romance at all except for one eccentric couple and they’re only in 1-2 chapters. It’s an amazing series.
I don’t recall any romance in Babel or Piranesi
