Nothing too hardcore as she will be a little anaesthetised at three points (at least) throughout the month. The Belgariad and the Malorean in particular are “read so often they’ve fallen to bits” series for her and I’d love some recommendations!

Initially I thought Feist but after Magician they get a bit more full on. 🙂 appreciate it!

I’m a huge David Eddings fan too. I’m assuming that she’s also read Polgara the Sorceress and Belgarath the Sorcerer? Some other authors I’ve enjoyed are Teresa Edgerton (Green Lion Trilogy), Zilpha Keatly Snyder (Green Sky Trilogy), Alan Dean Foster’s Spellsinger series (silly and fun), and if she really wants to invest/commit, try Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series. Staying with David Eddings, has she read his Elenium series (Sparhawk) and subsequent The Tamuli?

Edited to correct a spelling mistake.

      L.G. Estrella’s Unconventional Heros Series

The 2 Necromancers series. 2 Necromancers try to earn a pardon for past crimes by doing odd jobs for a kingdom. Strong found family vibe.
The first book in the series is 2 Necromancers, A Bureaucrate, and an Elf.

Attempted Vampirism Series. A vampire noble has his castle repossessed for back taxes. He becomes an adventurer to try and earn money to buy it back.

I’m a gal who loved Eddings in my youth (36 now). I really loved Jim Butcher’s Codex Alera and Kristen Britain’s Green Rider series

Raymond E Feist’s Riftwar Saga is amazing and I’d say very similar in style/scope as Eddings’s work.

    5. The Death Gate Cycle by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. It’s not too heavy and easy to follow.

    6. Robert Jordan, The Wheel of Time (I started because of blurb from Eddings and Anthony blurbs)

Son of the Black Sword, Corriea

      Arrows of the Queen, Lackey

      Codex Alera, Butcher

      Black Jewels, Bishop
