There is a book called as old as time: a twisted tale. Ive been trying to find it in my country for months now but no one has it in english and I even tried ordering it from abroad and the bookstore I made the order at, said they couldn't find it. I was trying my luck today on the book store sites just in case I found it. Still no luck but for some reason I found 2 mangas that are based on that book and here comes the dilemma. These mangas cost 13 euros each in my country which is a total of 26 euros while the book would cost around 10 euros. Also I've never bought a manga in my life before and don't know if its worth it since a manga is like a comic which is less awesome than a book. So is like to hear your opinion. Should I keep trying to find the book or just buy the manga and compromise with how it looks (since artwork doesn't allow you to build your own image in your head). Also out of context but is there a way to fix the creases on the spine of a book? Because my cousin ruined the spine of one of my favorite books when looking through it and I can't find a way to fix it

I’d keep looking for the book. The manga might be good, but it won’t replace the experience you’re actually after it’ll just be a different version of it.
Also don’t write manga off completely it’s not “lesser,” just more visual. But adaptations rarely hit the same as the original.
And sadly, spine creases are forever. You can press it a bit to make it look nicer, but there’s no real way to undo it.
