Hi idk if i am hitting a reading slump or if i am faking liking books but anyway putting aside the existential crisis i really want a book to spend less time on social media and get back into a routine of reading. The last book I picked up i am thinking 70 pages in as it is very boring even tho it looked like it could be good. I kinda like every genre but i do need something i will be into very quickly. Some of my favorite reads that come to mind : Lord of the rings, Harry Potter, The Count of Monte cristo (le compte de monte cristo), Peter Pan, The Shining, Mistborn triology, The hunger games even as 26 yo. Those are more fantasy and a bit dystopian books but i do like thrillers, romance, "cozy" books etc. I read in french and english.

Everytime i am on a reading slump, i would read a freida mcfadden book because they are short and easy read.
Based on the books you listed, I’d honestly recommend Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. It’s one of those books that becomes very hard to stop reading because something important is always happening, and the pacing never really drops. If you want fantasy instead, The Name of the Wind pulled me out of a reading slump for the same reason, very immersive and easy to disappear into.
